Texas leads the nation with the most top-selling master-planned communities and three of those are right here in Houston by the developer who introduced the local housing market to the concept of the master-planned community. NorthPointe in Tomball, Grand Mission Estates in west Houston and Kingwood were ranked at no. 18, 43 and 48 respectively in a report just released by John Burns Real Estate Consulting, a leading independent research and consulting company focused on the nation’s housing industry.
The three Friendswood Development communities contributed to the 23,263 new home sales last year across the nation – a number that represented an increase of 14 percent over the previous year.
Although located in three different areas in the Houston market, NorthPointe, Grand Mission Estates and Kingwood collectively represent why Friendswood Development Company has been successful in meeting the needs of Houston home buyers for nearly 54 years. Strong execution by the developer resulting in the right mix of amenities, housing styles and location are what David Jarvis, John Burns Real Estate Consulting Senior Vice President, Consulting, attributes to the accomplishments of the communities.
With strong school districts, top local and national builders, and a wide product offering, there's no doubting each of these three communities displays those essential attributes.
New homes priced from the high $100,000s to the $700,000s in the three communities are offered by top local and national builders.
More great things are expected to come as Friendswood Development Company expands its Wildwood community with a 200 acre addition to Wildwood at Oakcrest that will be available for builders this summer.
Furthermore, in Spring 2016 the company will open Royal Brook at Kingwood, located at West Lake Houston Parkway and Mills Branch. The 510-acre community will offer new homes priced from the $300,000s to the $800,000s by recently announced builders that include Village Builders and Perry Homes on 55' lots, Village Builders and Ashton Woods on 65' lots, and J. Patrick Homes on 75' lots.
